KU Cheer Camp

Jaedin and Paige went to a 1-day cheer camp put on by the KU Cheerleaders & Dance Team. They had a blast! I'm still getting use to all the red & blue that Jaedin is bringing into our house.

Having lunch at Naismith.

Jaedin getting all "glittered" up.

I will post more cheerleading pictures once I get copies from my sister.

Water Fun!

It has been hot. Very, very HOT! The girls and I needed to cool off. What better way than a mini-pool and slip 'n slide? (Mr. Talin was a lucky guy and got to go see GG with Nana. He had a blast in Concordia and even got a special tour of the Concordia Fire Station!)

VBS (Part 1)

We sent 2 kiddos to Superhero VBS in Williamstown this year. Talin was beyond excited to be 3...which is old enough to attend VBS with Jaedin. Both kids LOVED all 4 days of VBS. They made capes, masks, won prizes, learned new songs & dances, and most importantly learned about God. Here are some pictures of them dressed up like Superhero's of their choice. Jaedin was Pajama Girl Superhero and Talin was Firefighter Superhero. Creative I guess!

Zooooooo

Eric and I loaded up our 2 little ones and headed to the Topeka Zoo to meet some friends. (Jaedin was super lucky and got to spend the weekend with Paige at Uncle Brent's house in Salina.) Neither Talin or Remi remember going to this zoo from last year. I think they were expecting the Omaha Zoo...which they do remember. I love the Topeka Zoo because you can see everything in 1-2 hours. We walked the entire zoo and then headed over for a train ride. Boy was Talin excited! After the dads and kids went on a train ride, we had a McD's picnic in the park and then headed home for naps. What a fun summer day!

Turner Camping Adventures

We decided to try a little camping this 4th of July holiday. We got a spot by our friends, the Weems, for 3 nights at Lake Perry. Close to home...yes! We headed out to set up our wonderful Minnie-Winnie early Friday evening. We grilled and the kids stayed up late playing around with friends. Just like at home, the kids went to bed like champs (minus a couple of mishaps from Remi) and slept great all night. Yeah - we all made it ALL night in the camper!

Saturday night we headed to our neighbor friends, the Spurlings, for a BBQ and fireworks. After much fun, Remi was ready for bed before the others so I took her home to crash in her own bed. Eric, Talin & Jaedin headed back to the campsite for another night of fun. Jaedin & Talin both slept until almost 10am! Lots of fun = tired kids!

Sunday we decided to pack up the campsite and head home because of ALL the rain. Eric's brother, Matt, was in town so we decided to just stay at home and invite some friends & family up to our shop for a BBQ and fireworks. Being home is so much easier with little ones. Miss Remi put herself to bed around 8pm when she got tired. The other kids were able to just run and run and run...in the rain! I'm pretty sure that a good time was had by all!

House Divided???

On Jaedin's last day of Junior Jayhawk Basketball Camp, she dressed up for KU spirit day. Before this camp, we had NOTHING in our house that resembled the imaginary red/blue bird. Jaedin's wonderful Aunt Nik came to rescue though and surprised Jaedin with a new KU t-shirt. I was also supportive enough to buy her some colored hair spray and temporary tattoos. (Ugh! Just didn't feel right!) Now, after camp, Jaedin has lots of KU items; 2 t-shirts, socks, cup, posters, stickers, ribbon, and a KU basketball! Needless to say, she is one happy lil girl. Mom is still crying...
