Our new froggy friend...

Talin was very surprised to find a new friend waiting for him on his black car when he went out for an afternoon drive. There was a tiny tree frog on the hood of his car. Talin walked over and picked it up (gently!) and just started chatting with it. Once he put the frog back done, it instantly hopped into his car. Talin thought this was hilarious! He decided Mr. Frog needed to go for a ride too. The poor frog hopped into a very small space and hid out. I'm sure the frog was very thankful when I got him out of the black car and released back in the yard. You'll have to ask Talin about the "frog in his car" though...quite the story!!

Mr. Talin has some great teeth!

This was officially Talin's 3rd dentist visit but the first two visits shouldn't count because he really didn't even let the doctor look at his teeth. This visit, however, was a completely different story. Talin did amazing! He got all his teeth cleaned, checked, and even braved the x-trays. He hopped in the chair, went for a little ride to lay back, watched Dora, and chatted away with the assistants. He even got a super cool new Diego toothbrush and some playdoh! He was a trooper!

Softball Party!!!

Jaedin's softball team had some "fun in the sun"! The softball girls (& siblings) had a blast playing in the pools, going down the slip'n slide, jumping in the jumpy house, and even "tanning" out front. Thanks to all the parents that came and brought food for the BBQ. What a great way to end the softball season!

Here's some pics to share of the kiddos playing...like nice siblings! Jaedin and Talin were very proud of the train track they built. Remingtin had a blast playing with her old infant tub. Even Talin & Jaedin got in on the action. Funny how old things can fill hours of playtime!

We had a great time at the Territurtle Races this year. Saturday morning we loaded up Chelly and Greeny and headed to Lecompton. There were so many people and so many turtles! The kids had a blast watching all the turtles wander around the circle trying to win a prize. Unfortunately, our turtles didn't win the race but we had a lot of fun taking care of them for the last 2 weeks. Eric, Talin, & Jaedin took the turtles out and released them to find their mommy's and daddy's when we got home. Talin was really worried when Chelly & Greeny headed off in two different directions...too cute!

"Tarnival" Time

We headed over to Lecompton for Territorial Days. The kids were so excited for the "tarnival" (as Talin called it)! Talin wanted to ride the same ride over and over...no surprises, it was pretending to drive a car! Lil Remi had to stay in the stroller most of the time and took the heat like a champ. Thanks to a wonderful nana for coming and taking Talin & Remi home early so Jaedin could stay a couple more hours and ride all the big kid rides. She also scored 3 pretty cute new stuffed animals. :)

Had to snap a few pictures of this...Talin & Remingtin dancing. They were so cute and just kept giggling.

Exercizin'

Yep, we needed something new to do...so we decided to head downstairs and do a little dancing and exercising. I don't approve of any exercises in the pictures but they sure were cute!!!

Camping Inside

The kids talked dad into setting up the tent inside one evening while mom was gone. They had a blast playing in it! They didn't sleep in it all night but they sure had fun pretending to "camp".

Stayin' Cool

We are trying really hard to stay cool at our house. We have been doing A LOT of swimming, like twice a day just to get outside! Talin does get to take his morning drive outside in the black car. He's usually ready to head back inside around 9ish though. You know it's hot when he doesn't even want to be outside!!

Summer Softball Comes To An End...

Jaedin played her last game of softball tonight for this summer. They had a final tournament in Nortonville. She is excited for the season to be over but is finally admitting that she enjoyed it and wants to play again. She said her favorite position to play is 1st base...because she gets more action there. :)

Cousin Fun!

We had our first cousin date to the movies today! I took Jaedin and Paige to lunch at Carlos O'Kelly's (a favorite) and then to see the movie Up. We had a lot of fun at lunch, giggling and chatting. The movie was great and the girls really seemed to understand and enjoy it. They both zonked out on the way home from Lawrence...the day of fun really wore them out!

Pool Time!

We finally got a pool for the summer! I blew it up and filled it with water after Jaedin's ball practice. To no surprise, the kids wanted to go swimming immediately when they saw the water and it was FREEZING!! I didn't think Talin and Remi would last 5 minutes but when it was time for bed they got out kicking and screaming for more. I didn't even take the time to put Remi in a suit! They all had a blast and I know we will be cooling off a lot in it this summer.

Giggle Time!

Jaedin had her friend, Cecilia, over for a playdate yesterday evening. They had a blast playing with shaving cream, dress-up, doll house, school, restaurant, outside...you name it, they probably did it! Talin stuck around for the shaving cream activity, then he bolted to nana's house. Too many girls at our house I think! Here's some pics of the giggly girls being silly!

Remingtin Mae

Remi went to the dr today for her 18 month check-up. We can't believe she is already 1 1/2!!! She had to get 4 shots to make up for the ones we missed at 15 months (she couldn't get them at 15 months because we were going through all the drama with her eye injury). She is not a huge fan of shots to say the least but she took it like a trooper. She is in the 50th percentle for weight and 75th percentile for height. We have no idea where our girls are getting their long legs from but lucky them! The doctor gave us good news all around - said she was way ahead of the game developmentally and didn't need any work done to the scar above her eye. Yay!!

Lake Time!

We made it to the lake today! The water was beautiful and the sun felt great. Jaedin absolutely loves to be on the boat and swimming in the water. Talin likes to go for boat rides (especially likes to drive) but isn't so sure about swimming in that brown water yet. Remingtin loves for the boat to be going fast so she can feel the breeze but if it stops, she instantly thinks she needs to be in the water. Every time we take all the kids out, it gets easier and easier so we are happy. We are also very thankful to have a boat slip this summer. Here's some pics of our adventures on the water today.
