Toothless wonder...

Jaedin lost her other top front tooth at school during lunch. I was teaching at Lecompton and got a call...of course, the first thing that came to my mind was panic...someone was sick or hurt. Instead, it was Jae's super excited voice telling me she lost her top tooth at lunch while eating a cinnamon roll. She was beyond excited!!! (No, they don't let every kid call when they lose a tooth...it helps to be friends/neighbors with the secretary and work in the district.) Guess it's time for the tooth fairy to make another stop at the Turner house!

"All she wants for Christmas is her 2 front teeth!!!"

Jaedin's Kdg Field trip

Jaedin had her first Kindergarten field trip. All 4 kindergarten classes loaded up the buses and headed to Gary's Pumpkin Patch (aka Gary's Berries) outside of Perry. We got there just in time to eat our delicious sack lunches and then head out to the play area. The kids all enjoyed the huge slides, haybales, corn pit, and gigantic tires.

Unfortunately, it was slightly muddy that day. Little miss Jaedin was running to get a classmate to get on the hayride and her legs slipped right out from under her. Her whole backside was soaking wet and covered in mud when she stood up. Hmmm...what to do?!?! I took her to the bathroom and tried to calm her down and wipe off as much mud as I could. She put on a brave face and tried to enjoy the rest of the day as much as she could...considering she was wearing wet pants and it was quite chilly out. All the students then got to go on a hayride and pick a pumpkin.

If you look close in this pic, you can see her wet jeans!

Once we got back to the play area, her wonderful teacher, Ms. Johnson, tried so hard to cheer her up ~ made Jaedin smile lots! Jaedin even says her favorite part of the field trip was going down the slide with her teacher. :-) All in all, it was a fantastic field trip!

Country Kids at Heart

What a fun day to spend at home...playing outside and being a kid! The kids were outside playing while dad was working in the shop. I peeked outside and saw them all sharing some Pringles...super messy but loving life! I'm pretty sure Maggie even got a few.

After nap time, we decided to rake some leaves and make a big pile. At first, Remingtin didn't quite understand and wanted to run through the pile constantly...not to the delight of her brother & sister. Finally, we got a big pile and they all came running. Dad even got in on the fun! I'm sure the neighbors loved our screams & giggles!!!

Fall Hayride & Bonfire

Jaedin, Talin & I layered up for a fun hayride & bonfire. (Dad & Remi decided last minute to stay home and work in the shop.) A great friend of mine lives in Lecompton with her husband and daughter and they hosted a very fun family night. We went on a long hayride in the country and then we roasted hot dogs & s'mores on the bonfire and played outside. The kids all had a blast! It also turned out to be a beautiful evening. Thanks to the Flanner's for planning such a fun night!

Spendin' the morning with Talin

What a fun Saturday morning! Talin & I got to spend the whole morning alone...something that hasn't happened in a very long time. Daddy headed to the farm to work on hunting things while Jaedin & Remi went shopping with nana & Aunt Nic. Talin & I decided to stay home and hang out. We brought all of his favorite trucks upstairs to play. For some reason, I only got to be the ambulance driver. I guess he doesn't know about his mom's inability to handle emergencies or blood. I tried to drive the crane or front loader (something I have knowledge in) but he didn't approve. While playing trucks, we decided it would be fun to make some Halloween cupcakes. Wow - what a mess but so much fun! What a sweet little boy I have and what a great way to spend a morning!

Halloween Silliness!

Despite the chaos...I really do love coming home to my 3 munchkins everyday after school. There are many nights that I don't sit down until well after they are in bed but the love we have and smiles we share make every moment worth it. These pictures are an example of the fun we have...we made cookies and practiced our silly Halloween faces. BOO!!!

Remi has hair!

Remi got a new hair-do and it actually makes her look like she has some hair and not just fluff. She loves to have it curled and "prettied up".

Girl Scouts

Jaedin has decided to try girl scouts...something very near to my heart. I was a scout from Kdg until I was in high school. What fun memories I have! So far, she loves it! They got to decorate pumpkins the first meeting. We'll see how she feels once the cookie sales begin. :-)

Pumpkin Patch

We went on our annual pumpkin patch journey and had so much fun! This is one of our favorite family traditions. We were even lucky and picked a day that had decent weather and not a large crowd. This year, we went to Schaake's again outside of Lawrence. We still miss the KC Pumpkin Patch in Gardner but this one definitely takes a close 2nd place. The kids love seeing the farm animals and walking through the corn maze. They also have a great pumpkins! We can't wait to go back again next year!
