Superman... (& Superwoman!)

Talin & Remi had some extra energy to burn off before bedtime. They decided to go shirtless and pile up all the couch pillows & cushions in the middle of the living room. They had a blast diving into the "water"!

Turner Kids - Summer 2009 Portraits

I finally got enough energy to take all 3 kids by myself to KC to get some new pictures taken. They did awesome! I was hoping for at least 1 good picture of the three together...I got LOTS of wonderful pictures as you can see!!!

Day in KC...

We had a busy day in KC. I took the kids to get their pictures taken, we had lunch with daddy and visited his office, we played at an old favorite park in Olathe, we visited our old neighborhood & friends, and Talin went to the ENT for his 6 month check-up. The girls were very lucky and got to stay with our friend/neighbor/babysitter in our old Olathe neighborhood while we went to the dr. They had a blast! It was so great to see the Birnbaum's! Talin went to see the dr...and not to his liking either. He wanted to stay and play! He did great once we got there though. We found out his left ear looked great but his right ear was closed. Not good. We are doing antibiotic drops for awhile and hoping it opens back up. If not, it looks like the poor lil guy will have to get it fixed again. Keep your fingers crossed!

VBS (x2)

Crazy how fast the time has gone ~ it's our 3rd summer in Perry! Jaedin was lucky enough to attend 2 outstanding VBS programs again this year. She went to our church, Perry United Methodist Church, as well as a great church in Williamstown. She had a blast at both places and always wishes they lasted all summer long! Talin really wanted to go with her this year but wasn't quite old enough. He's already excited for next year though!

Heart News...

Jaedin went to her annual cardiology appointment at Children's Mercy in KC. We got great news...she doesn't have to go back for 3 years and we no longer have to take medicine before dentist appointments! We were all very hopeful that the holes had closed and we would be done but the doctor could still hear the squeaking noise. He even let me listen and I could actually hear it this time. While we were there, Jaedin got an ultrasound to check them out in more detail but the doctor assured as, as he does every time, she can do anything any other kid does. She has no restrictions. We even talked ear piercing...although mom is not ready for that yet!

Jaedin also got her back-to-school haircut (3 inches gone!) while we were in KC and we indulged in Chili's with Jenny! :-)

OLD Friends bring NEW Friends

We love having company, especially when the whole family can come! Eric's best friend from high school, Kendall, came to town this past weekend to play in a golf tournament at LPCC. Kendall's wife, Trista, also came as well as their 2 boys, Tucker (5) & Kuper (3). Eric & Kendall played golf Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day on Sunday. Trista & I (along with the 5 kiddos) tried our best to stay busy as well as keep our sanity! We played outside a lot, went swimming, watched movies, went to Chuck E Cheese, played upstairs, played downstairs, played with Playdoh...you get the picture! :-) We also had a BBQ on Saturday night and the Dye family was able to join us. The 8 kids put the jumpy house and our long driveway to good use! We're trying to talk the Metcalf family to move this way...Ulysses is way too long of a drive!!!

Remingtin Mae = Pure Silliness

Remingtin is almost 20 months old now. If you have been around her lately, you know her personality is really starting to shine through...and it's silly! She LOVES to have fun and make people laugh. One of her favorite things to do is to climb...check out the dryer picture. She thought that was hilarious! She also still loves hats. She puts anything she can find on her head like a hat (even a pull-up). She definitely lights up the Turner house!

Happy (early) 3rd Birthday Talin!!

Talin's birthday is August 7th but his daddy decided he needed a big kid 4-wheeler like Jaedin's so we bought one a little early. Talin LOVES it!! He begs to ride it everyday. He got right on it and started riding like a pro. We still need to buy another helmet so Talin & Jaedin can both ride their 4-wheelers at the same time. Remingtin now thinks she gets Talin's "little" 4-wheeler. She has figured out how to make it go and loves it! Gotta love ATV's and living in the country!!

Takin' the boat to dinner...

We had a blast taking our boat to dinner with some friends! We left our slip around 6:30pm and did some cruisin' (slow, very unlike Eric) around the lake. Later, we headed to Rock Creek Marina and tied up. There we enjoyed some dinner and lots of laughs at Trivia Night. We finally decided to call it a night when we finished LAST place and headed back (slowly) to our slip. We really LOVE owning a boat!!!
