KC Color Run
Before photo:
After photo:
I ran The Color Run in KC with a couple of great friends. While it was FUN, I'm not sure it was the "happiest 5K on the planet". It took forever to get to stadium to park & then even longer to make it to the starting line. It was a HOT, HOT morning to be outside running but I must admit getting pelted with colored powder along the run did make it entertaining.
LOTS of people!

San Diego!!!
I know I've mentioned before that I love my job and I really do! Not only do I get to learn about new technology daily and work with amazing teachers and students but I have also been fortunate to experience some incredible opportunities. I was speechless last winter when we were asked to present at an international technology conference. A team of 6 (4 teachers, our principal, and myself) got to head to San Diego for 5 nights to attend the ISTE (International Society of Technology in Education) conference. The conference was great! And of course, we spent every free second viewing the sights and laughing...A LOT!
We made it to California!
We visited the USS Midway
Coronado Island, CA
ISTE Presentation 2012
It's official!
Our PLMS team
We had a lot of fun at the exhibition hall!
We headed to Pacific Beach on our last night.
The sunset was beautiful & the weather was amazing!
Cheers to amazing teacher-friends!

Celebrating!!!
Guess who is no longer a cardiology patient?? JAEDIN!!!! We were so surprised by this news that we decided a CELEBRATION was in order.
As some know, Jaedin was born with 2 holes in her heart. We did not know of her condition until she about 48 hours old. Scary. Needless to say, as new parents we were freaked out. We had the best pediatric cardiologist who continued to calm our fears and educate us the last 8 years.
As of today though, Jaedin no longer has to see a cardiologist. Complete discharge! At her previous appointment (age 5), they told us the chances of it growing shut were over. However, today we found out that the true hole in the bottom of heart has apparently closed. They looked and listened and listened and looked and it was no where to be found in any of the tests. We are so thankful for this news!!! The hole in the top of heart (that everyone has in utero) is SOOO small that there is no concern. In fact, about 15% of people have the same hole and do not even know it.

T-Rex Cafe, fountains, shopping & Orange Leaf!
Jaedin has never had any restrictions or complications. She use to have to take medicine before dentist visits and we always told her she couldn't get her ears pierced until she was 18 (we were scared of the infection) so it's no surprise that was one of her first questions. "Does this mean I can get my ears pierced now?!!!"
We love you to the moon & back Jaedin!

Celebrating daddy!
What Is A Dad?
A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.
A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.
A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail...
- Unknown
While Eric LOVED spending the day with his wife & kids, we saw him get most excited at the end of the NASCAR race when Dale Earnhardt Jr took the checkered flag!

Friday Fun
Well...we were suppose to go on a "field trip" to the pool today but with clouds in the sky, cooler temperatures and the chance for a storm, we didn't go. Boo! The kids were quite disappointed (as was I) so we decided to do some ART instead. Luckily, I had bought these cool letters along with some new paints and brushes.
Didn't they turn out great??!!!

Teacher-Mommy
You might be a teacher-mommy if you have flashcards for your kids to work on everyday in the summer. In fact, they each have 2 sets and a graph to record their progress.
BUT...they LOVE it!!!!
