Harlem Wizards

2012 PL Hoop Troop

The Harlem Wizards came to town and played the Perry Lecompton Hoop Troop for a school fundraiser. The Hoop Troop was composed of teachers, coaches and community members. I was lucky enough to get asked to play....and also got picked on the most. It was all in good fun and raised a lot of money for the elementary school.

Leprechaun Trap

It's Talin's turn to create a trap to catch loose Leprechauns at school. This project was right up his ally and one that I bet he remembers forever! He had a blast making a supply list and shopping with dad.

Surprises are the BEST!

As I was headed to wake up the kids for school on Valentine's Day, the phone rang. My heart sank. Who was calling at 6:30am? Initial panic! When I saw it was the school district...premature excitement? It had snowed the day before but there was no way the roads were too bad for school. Right??!! Right, the roads were not bad. However, the town of Perry (including the schools) had lost electricity about 3am. No power = No school. Lucky us! We did celebrate!!!

We called up cousin Paige to see if she wanted to spend the "sNOw day" with us. Once she arrived, I sent the kids on a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt. SO FUN!

Clues were everywhere! :-)

What's that? A surprise behind the couch???

We had planned on doing the surprise scavenger hunt on Tuesday...after school and before gymnastics. This gave us so much more time!

Valentine Time...

The kids had so much fun with Valentine cards this year.

Remi chose Princesses (shocking, right?) and proudly wrote her name on all of them!

Talin wanted Cars Valentines with pencils...no candy!

Jaedin is our creative one and looked on my Pinterest account for ideas. She loved the sucker photo cards! (Me too!)

Princess Dancers 2012

Both Jaedin & Remingtin were able to participate in the PLHS Varsity Blues dance clinic this year. Jaedin was in the 2nd/3rd grade group and Remi was in the PreK-1st grade group. The theme was "princesses" and each group performed to a Disney song. Adorable!!!
