Field trip Friday!

At home & free on a Friday = A FIELD TRIP!  We started our day at the Topeka Zoo so we could check out the new Penguin Plunge exhibit.  (As some know,  I collect penguins so I LOVED it!)  After we checked out all the animals and even had a couple of conversations with a zookeeper, we went for a quick train ride around Gage Park.  There might have been a little boy with us that smiled the WHOLE time!

The best part of the day...nana came too!

Next, we stopped by the Discovery Center.

Softball Camp

Mom:  "Hey Jae, do you want to go to a 4-day softball camp with Mrs. Bradney (her PE teacher) and Coach Erin (her Sidekicks coach)?"

Jaedin:  "Well...duh, mom.  YES!"

Silly me for even asking, I guess.  She has had a blast the last 4 days at softball camp.  Her abs are a little sore though which seems to be a great sign of hard work.  We couldn't be more excited that she loves this sport and we can't wait to watch her continue to grow.  She's a rockstar!

My teacher friend, Torrie, brought her two kids over along with our friend Megan's two kids.  The SIX had a blast playing in the sprinkler, tossing water balloons and having a squirt gun fight in the SUN.  Have a mentioned that we love summer break?!! 

No worries...Miss Remi was also having a playdate with her friend Charley  :)

Talin's 1st TOOTH...

is out!  It has been hanging on FOREVER but it finally got "bumped" out.  He said he thought he had some food in his mouth so he went to spit it out in his hand and it was his tooth.  Gross!  Total boy, I guess.  Anyway, he was BEYOND excited to lose his 1st tooth and beamed his adorable smile all day long.  He wrote a letter to the tooth fairy and taped his tooth to it immediately.  He couldn't wait for bedtime & was the first one up the next morning to check out his pillow.  Much to his delight, he had a note back from the tooth fairy as well as money and a surprise for losing his 1st tooth.  Lucky guy!

Talin's team hasn't won a game yet...but they don't know that.  All that matters is that they are having fun and learning how to be a team!  :)

Cowtown Showdown

Jaedin and her Sidekick buddies played softball in the Cowtown Showdown at the Field of Dreams in Basehor this weekend.  The first game had a dug-out decorating and spirit competition...Sidekicks 8U were the runner-ups.  Yee-haw!

The girls went 1-3 for the weekend but continue to grow and improve as a team.  So much fun to watch!
