Happy 35th Birthday, Eric!

Eric turned 35 this year! To celebrate, the kids and I made him his favorite cake & decorated the house. I also had a small surprise party for Eric in Lawrence. A bunch of his "work" buddies as well as wonderful Perry neighbors, family & friends were able to join us for dinner and fun. I'm pretty sure he was surprised and I know he had a great time!

Hardwork = DQ!!!

Jaedin is very responsible when it comes to school. She works very hard all day long and then consistently comes home and does her home learning. We are VERY proud of all her accomplishments this year. We received her 3rd quarter progress report and once again, it was great! I took the kiddos to DQ to celebrate all her hard work. We are so proud of you, Jaedin!

Jaedin doing her spelling practice.

The kids LOVE ice cream!

Cookie Monster!

Remi is up to silliness again! She begged for "tookies for dessert" and picked out mini-Oreo's.

When I came back to the table I saw this:
She had separated every single cookie and licked the frosting off each one.

I asked her to finish her snack...she went back to the table and put them all back in the sack and then asked for more. I think not!

My new workout partner...

Remi told me she wanted to "xcise" with me so I put in my Jillian Michaels 30-day Shred DVD. As you can tell from the pictures, she took it very seriously and was very intrigued with Jillian. It was adorable! I'm pretty sure I didn't get much of a workout...too busy snapping pictures and giggling! I do wonder if she was sore at all the next day considering the first time I did it I couldn't walk right for about a week!

Watching Jillian's every move!

Stretching - very important!

Knee circles - this was the cutest thing ever!

Jumping Jacks!!!

Sit-ups...yes, that is pen on her chunker thighs.

Loving the Earth!

Jaedin had another Kdg home project except this time it could only be constructed by using recycled materials. We saved and saved for a couple of weeks because she just wasn't sure what all she would need. She knew all along she wanted to make some sort of hat but that was about it. Finally she decided...a sun & drink hat! (She is her father's daughter!) We had a lot of fun constructing her project, she did all the work except the hot-gluing. It took a lot of strength for her engineer daddy not to continue to throw out ideas and take over with "bigger & better" ideas. I'm super proud of them both!

Headed to school with her finished "recycled" project!

Garden Friend...not!

This will be our 3rd summer in Perry but our first summer to really start working on the yard. Sad, we know. We took a trip to Home Depot and began a list of projects. Felt great to be working outside. I was planting flowers and Eric was replacing gutter tubes when he raced around the corner of the house and told me & the kids to "stay put". I had a good idea what was going on. Sure enough...a friendly (rather long) garden snake had scared the daylights out of Eric. After our new friend was dead, we measured and "positioned" it on a rock to share with others.
